We just made the move from the beautiful mountains of Pinetop to Rio Rico, AZ which is practically Nogales which is right on the Mexico border. It is such a different experience. Spanish is the language primarily spoken here and I know just the few words that Dora the Explorer has taught me while watching with Scotty. The first time we went to Wal Mart in Nogales, we were the only white faces in the entire place! We went to church last Sunday and it was so wierd. They say something in either English or Spanish and then have to translate it to the other. And singing the hymns was next to impossible. All I could hear was the Spanish words and felt like I kept losing my place. There seems to be only one other younger English speaking couple in our ward. They weren't there last week but they do have a 3 year old little boy. So, hopefully our little boys can be friends. I keep thinking that the only way I'm going to be able to stay sane is to have the internet and blogging but any high speed internet we can get here is freakin expensive to get hooked up and then we'd have to pay $60 a month! (I'm on my parents computer at their house right now.) AAAaarrrgggghhhh! Derrick really wants dial up so that we can save money but does my sanity mean nothing to him???? I really would be neglecting my child for hours if I had to wait for freakin dial up to bring my sites up. I don't know what to do? I did find out that they have story time at their itsy bitsy local library that I can take Scotty to on Wednesday mornings. Maybe there will be some younger border patrol wives there that will take pity on me and be my friends. Hopefully I'm just anxious and missing my old life and that things will actually be great for us there.

Crazy move! Maybe you'll learn Spanish super fast! I need to learn.
First, love the new blog look. Second, high speed is worth your sanity, you deserve it having to live in Rio Rico.
And finally we miss you up here in the cold mountains! Hopefully it will get better and the other young English speaking family will be just as glad to see you guys.
Wow, so it's like you're in another country. What a learning experience! Why Rio Rico though? I would say the High speed is a MUST at this point. Seriously, does Derrick understand how important your sanity is?
Why are you there? What happened to Tucson?
Raysha,
Happy Birthday! It's my fault Gus called you a day early. I have it on my yahoo reminders as the 28th. Sorry, I'm glad we were a day early though instead of a day late.
Hey sorry about your language troubles.
The key to singing in Spanish is trying to fit 2 words (or more)into one note. :) It really is tricky. We wish you luck.
We'll be pulling for you and your high speed internet wishes.
Hope to see you soon.
Love you
Happy Happy Birthday Raysha Dear, Happy Days Will Come To You All Year (even in Rio Rico) Well we miss you and Scotty tonz, I can't say much about Derrick, but he'll live. Saydee thought Scotty was going to be in Sunbeams with her, so right now it's just her and Jocelyn. So when she didn't see him come to Sunbeams, she asked, "Why does Scotty get to stay in my class?" She wanted to stay in Nursery and didn't think it was fair that Scotty was getting to stay. So I had to show her in the window that he didn't get to stay. Anyway, I hope you find your happiness there, if not this would be a great time to develop a new talent, or learn Spanglish.
