New Years Eve

For New Years Eve/New Years, we went to Gilbert to spend time with the Palmer family. Derrick's mom had set up family pictures with a photographer on New Years Eve. I don't have any of those pictures but I do have some snapshots that were taken that day.
Here's a pic I took of Derrick and Scotty.

Derrick took this one of Scotty and I

These next pictures I had to steal from Derrick's brother Matt's blog. I just have to let you in on a little secret...............things turn a little goofy when Derrick's siblings all get together. There can never be a Palmer family get together without someone getting hit in the junk. Well, maybe not now but it used to be that way. This time, they settled for some funny pictures. Thanks Matt for your great photography skills!

And even Scotty got in on the action.

And then One Grecian Urn. It's from the movie The Music Man (the old one.) Derrick and his brothers provided the urn while his sister Brianne flows out the top.

After family photos we all went and ate at Village Inn. That evening some of the boys were off doing their own thing so some of the girls went out to dinner at a yummy Italian restaurant. Of course, I have been terrible at taking pictures lately so I don't have any of our girls night. I also don't have any of the get together the next day at the Dababneh's (Derrick's sister's) house. The guys watched football and the girls talked, ate, and took the kids to the park. It was so good to see everyone.

Christmas #2

Christmas in Willcox.
We were able to enjoy spending time with family on Christmas. Gus' family was there, Jodi's family was there and of course, my parents were there. We had a fun time unwrapping gifts with them. Gus handed out the gifts and everyone had fun watching each other tear into them.
Here's Gus' family: Gus handing out gifts, Laurie unwrapping a gift and Gracie looking very pretty in her princess dress-ups!

Here's Jodi and her girls, Sydney and Susannah. I didn't take very many pictures and I somehow missed getting Martin in any of them.
Oh, and notice the awesome denim picnic blanket that Jodi has folded up on her lap. My mom made it and we received one as well! Can't wait until the weather is better and we can use it!

And here is Scotty in his Batman mask/cape. It's a little big right now so the eye holes don't quite match up with his eyes but he LOVED it!

And finally, here are my parents and my wonderful hubby.

We had a lot of fun the couple of days following Christmas as well. One night we had a fun and rowdy game of Apples to Apples that lasted over 3 hours. And Scotty got to spend fun time with 3 of his girl cousins. He also got to spend some time with Uncle Gus. Uncle Gus even showed him how to play guitar. Fun!!
Thanks mom and dad for having us! I love visiting my parents house and it's always a bonus when I get hang out with my siblings while I'm there. I love you guys!

About time for an update....Christmas morning

So, it's been over 2 months since I've posted. I haven't felt up to a lot lately and blogging just happened to be one of those things. I am over a month behind in posting Christmas pictures but figured I should just do it anyway.
Christmas morning we woke up early at our house in Rio Rico to open gifts together as our little family. Scotty was so excited for Christmas. He had been watching Polar Express, Mickey's Christmas, Elf, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and any other Christmas movie he could get. He watched them over and over and over. It was kinda nice though because like I said, I wasn't feeling up to doing much and it kept him occupied.
Scotty was excited about Santa coming too. Here's a picture of Scotty and Derrick at the beginning of gifts.

Here's our little family on Christmas morning. I know I look terrible, but getting up before 8:00 in the morning has been kinda hard for me lately.
The only thing that Scotty REALLY wanted Santa to bring him was a "Dark Mater sword." Oh, and he wanted Santa to bring Daddy a "Dark Mater sword" too AND he wanted mommy to get one as well. Good thing Santa didn't disappoint!
Here is Scotty and Derrick involved in the first fight with the light sabers.

That was our early Christmas morning. Then we were off to Willcox to spend the rest of Christmas with family.
