Freakin' Nuts!

As everyone who reads this blog knows, Scotty has been driving me freakin' nuts lately. And I usually tell him so. This is how it goes:
Scotty makes some huge mess or does something that I have told him over and over not to do.
I say, "UUURRRRRGGGGGHHHHH! Scotty, you are driving me freakin' nuts!"
This probably happens about once a day. Today Scotty was sitting on the coffee table with his juice cup. He was playing with it and it rolled off the table and fell to the floor. Scotty rolled onto his stomach, still on the coffee table, looked down at his juice, and said, "Fweakin' Muts!" He said it over and over and kept laughing harder everytime he said it. I couldn't help but laugh with him. Now he has been saying it all day and yes, still thinks it's hillarious. Everytime I tell him he shouldn't say that and neither should mommy, he says it even louder and laughs even harder. I better stop calling the cat a "little sh*t" when she throws up on the floor!!!!

Love Tag on Valentines Day

I've been tagged by Laurie. Perfect for V day too!!

*What is your husband's full name? Derrick S Palmer
*How long have we been married? 7 years 2 months
*How long did we date? We dated for 3 months before engagement.
*Who said I love you first? I honestly can't remember. How awful, huh? I'm guessing it was Derrick though.
*Who is taller? Derrick. When he's standing up straight, he's 6 foot 5 inches.
*Who sings better? Neither of us are great singers. But if the question was: Who sings the silliest made up songs to pets and Scotty? I'd have to say my big lovable NERD Derrick!!!!
*Who is smarter? This is a hard one. I'd have to say, it depends on the subject. He has more eduction but he's the one who always has to say, "It must be nice to have all the answers."
*Who pays the bills? I do, unfortunately.
*Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Derrick has ever since we've been married until just recently. When we moved, my dresser ended up on the right, so now I sleep on the right.
*Who mows the lawn? Lawn? What is a lawn?
*Who cooks dinner? I do mostly. Derrick used to cook more than me when I was working. He enjoys it more than I.
*Who’s more stubborn? Of course I'm going to say Derrick!!!
*Who kissed who first? I'm pretty sure Derrick kissed me first but with my prior kissing reputation, you never know!!!
*Who asked who out? Derrick asked me out. He got my digits at a dance and asked me out that next Wednesday. We went to Maccaroni Grill and watched a movie.
*Who proposed? Derrick. One night he asked me if I had ever thought about us getting married. I said that I had. A couple of days later he was holding my hand and played with my ring finger and said, "So when are we going to do something about this?" I was thinking, "When you ask me, duh?" I probably shrugged my shoulders and said, "I don't know." We ended up starting our search for a ring either that day or the next day.
*Who has more siblings? I have 5, he had 4 (1 deceased) at the time we were dating. Now he has 6 (1 deceased, 2 adopted)
*Who wears the pants in the family? We have little fun arguments about this all the time. He says he's the boss 1/2 the time and that our cat Kiki is the boss the other 1/2 of the time. I say I'm the boss 100% of the time. I think my percentage is greater so I should win!

I'm sure some people have all ready done this one. If you haven't done it and would enjoy it, I tag Amy, Melissa, Kathi, Koe, and anyone else who wants.

Watch out! There's a Scotty on the Loose!

Scotty has been getting into anything and everything lately. He makes so many messes that some days it's hard to get anything else done. #1--When we were in Willcox, he was watching a movie and was quiet. I was in the other room and when I came to see how he was doing, I found the entire box of kleenex empty and Scotty was laying in a bed of Kleenex. He had a huge wad under his head for a pillow and the rest spread all over around him. He looked at me like he was the smartest thing ever and said, "Pillow."
#2--Right before my parents came to visit for the weekend, I was trying to get more boxes emptied and put away. I heard noises coming from the living room. It sounded like a plastic sack tearing. I ran in to find that Scotty had somehow pulled a whole loaf of bread down from the counter. He had bit into the bag and then ripped it open. He had about 7 slices of bread on the floor. He looked up at me, picked up a couple of slices and took a big bite and said, "Sandwich!"
#3--The same day as the bread incident, I was out of the room for a few minutes and I came in to find that Scotty had gotten my purse unzipped. He was sitting on the couch with gum wrappers all around him. He had taken my gum from my purse and had eaten almost all of it.
#4--My parents came and we were in Tucson choosing a washer and dryer. We were in a big appliance store and Scotty got away just as someone had opened a door that led back into an employee only area of the building. There was a door in that area that led out the back of the store. They had that door propped open. Scotty made a mad dash. My dad ran after him. The fast little booger was all the way outside before dad caught up to him.
#5--That same weekend, Scotty decided he wanted to try to "go potty" on his own. We found him in the bathroom with his little toilet seat on the toilet and a whole roll of toilet paper off the roll. Most was in the toilet but some on the floor. As soon as I found him he took off running. When I found him he had just shoved a soaking wet clump of toilet paper in his mouth. Yuck! What can you do for toilet mouth?
#6--This past week, I had just finished folding all of the laundry. I needed to fix lunch, so I had stacked the folded laundry in the laundry baskets and put them on my bed. Everything was a little too quiet, again, so I went to search for Scotty. There he was on my bed. Laundry...............no longer in baskets and he was rolling around in it and throwing some up in the air laughing.
#7--I was in the bathroom doing Scotty's hair. He crawled up on the toilet and reached up and pulled the Q-tip container off of the shelf and dumped it all over the bathroom floor.
Between all of these things, were many other things that he did. Like throwing the hugest fits in public places. Pulling stuff off of the shelves in grocery stores. Just yesterday I had to get some things at the store. I was in a hurry and just reached in and unloaded everything onto the belt. The lady checked my stuff and I was on my way. When I got home and unloaded the sacks, I found about 3 things that I didn't put in the cart and never intended to buy. Sneaky little Scotty. Most people would have taken pictures of each incident above for blogging purposes. My first thought is not usually "this will be cute for story telling." I don't get that far past my frustrations to go find the camera. I Love my little guy so much but when will I ever be able to get the stuff done that I had planned on doing, instead of cleaning up his messes all day?
Here's a pic of a happier time in the life of Scotty and Scotty's momma!!

Wagon Ride

A couple of weeks ago when Scotty and I were visiting in Willcox, we got to go on a wagon ride with Aunt Nan, Uncle Jim, Jodi, Sydney, and Susannah. Uncle Jim needed to exercise the mules so they invited us out on the ride.
*Pic below-Before we started out *Scotty on the ride
*Uncle Jim-a true cowboy!
Our ride took about 2 hours and Scotty did unbelievably well. While on our ride we were able to see many animals including horses, cows, many dogs, llama and geese (I'm sure I'm missing something). As we were riding I was thinking about all the people who made the trek west on foot and wagons. It took us 2 hours to go a distance that would have taken a small fraction of that time to drive in a car. Yet, day after day, those people had to walk and ride in a bumby wagon. I guess we have it pretty good, huh?

My Amazing Parents

I seriously have amazing parents. They have always been so willing to help every one of their children and many other people that they come across. They so many times put other's needs before their own and I never hear them complain about it. They have helped us so much with our many moves throughout our marriage and with many car problems during that time also. They just helped us with the move to Rio Rico and then came again this past weekend to bring us some stuff and to help me buy and install my washer and dryer. I am always amazed at the continuous love and support that they offer to me and my siblings. I am honored to have them as my parents and to have benefited so much from their love, knowledge and strength. I am so glad to be hours closer to them now and am excited that I will be able to spend more time with them. I love that their hearts and arms are always open to their children and because we have them as parents, we have more to live up to. Thank you both for all you've done for us and continue to do for us. Hopefully we will have many opportunities to repay you! We love you!
