October in Willcox with the Hansen Family

Last month my brother Ted came to visit from Germany so the family got together at my parent's house in Willcox. I didn't take as many pictures as I should have. But here are a few from some of the activities.

Grandpa had fun taking the kids on rides in the trailer for his ATV.

The kids LOVED the ride!

Jannik, Garret, and Eric had fun talking to Korbin and trying to get him to smile at them.

Mom & Dad, Ted, Andra, & Jannik, and Scotty, Korbin & I went to the Corn Maze at Apple Annie's Produce and Pumpkins.

Scotty and Jannik liked all of the pumpkins.

There were more activities and a lot of food that we enjoyed. I had fun going to Apple Annie's orchard/bakery/gift shop with Mom, Jodi and Laurie. We purchased so many yummy things to eat. Fudge, pies, apple butter, pumpkin butter, cherry butter............delicious!!! Some of us played in a ping pong tournament which I won! The men played horseshoes. We sat and visited. We ate. We ate some more. Laurie and I watched The Proposal (thanks Laurie!) We had some Extreme games of Yahtzee and Phase 10. It was so good to spend time with my family. The two things that would have made it better was if Suzi and her family had been able to come and if Derrick had been able to be there. Hopefully we'll be able to all be there next time!

Bragging Time

Yep, that's right. It's time to brag about my extremely talented sister Suzi. While she was visiting in Willcox in September she took some pictures of my sweet baby Korbin and big boy Scotty. She had to work with some irritating conditions. She didn't have her normal equipment and set up. The weather was terrible and it was constantly overcast so the natural lighting wasn't the greatest. Plus she only had so much time there to visit and had other things planned so she worked around that too. And despite all of these things, she did an amazing job!!

Did I mention that she is extremely talented??? She also made the cute little hat with ears that Korbin is wearing in some of the pictures. There are so many good pictures but here is a little taste.

Korbin's Blessing Day

Korbin was blessed in church the first Sunday in September. Derrick gave a beautiful blessing. We were so pleased to be able to have so many of our family members there. Derrick is NOT a fan of having his picture taken. Especially in large groups of people so I didn't get a picture of everyone together after the blessing. But, thank you to all who were able to attend!

We are so blessed to have Korbin in our family. He is such a good, calm baby (unless he's hungry, tired, or has poo in his diaper.) He is becoming so aware of everything around him and has been handing out a lot of smiles lately. I love the moments when I can just talk to him and listen to him make noises back. I also love just being able to hold and snuggle our little guy!

I'm definitely not a photographer but I had to get some pictures of him on his blessing day.
So serious.

We had everyone over to our house after the blessing for some eating and visiting. I finally talked Derrick into a family picture after our house had cleared out a little bit.

Horsing Around

At the beginning of September Scotty, Korbin, and I went to Willcox for a visit. My sister Suzi and her family came from Pennsylvania to visit. It was so good to see them. Pennsylvania is WAY too far away. Good thing for phones! While we were there my dad brought my uncle's horse over so the kids could all take turns riding. Lonesome is an old, mild horse. Perfect for the kids.

Scotty was afraid to get on the horse but his Uncle Levi was nice and got on to help him. I wasn't out there at the time but I was told he kept saying, "It's not too bad!"
After realizing it "wasn't too bad," and watching all of the others on the horse by themselves, he decided to go for it!
Kassidy's turn in her adorable hat and sunglasses. Too cute!

Sydney's Turn

Even little Kaybree had a turn (also in an adorable pink hat!)

Thanks Grandpa and Uncle Levi for all the horsey fun!!

Birthday Time!

Derrick's birthday was the end of August. I feel horrible because I didn't do much for him. With having moved just before and trying to do everything with a newborn, I just couldn't get it together. We ended up going out to dinner the night before his birthday and then just having a little party with our own little family at home. We had cake and a few presents too. It wasn't a very special birthday for him all around. I'll have to make it up to him next year!

Scotty was working on his photography skills and took this picture of Derrick before he blew out the candles.

WE LOVE YOU DERRICK/DAD!!!
Thank you for all you do for us.

Alpine

Way back in June before all the craziness of packing a house, having a baby, and moving, we took a little trip to Alpine to visit my parents at the camp. It was so nice to be back in the pine trees and the beautiful summer weather. It really made me miss living in Pinetop even more than I normally do. Scotty had a lot of fun chasing chipmunks and collecting pine cones. Scotty had his first experience roasting hot dogs over the fire and his first experience of peeing in the wilderness.

Here is Scotty with his grandma collecting pine cones.

Cooking the hot dogs

Hanging out while eating/after eating

Scotty's first pee in the wilderness. He was a little shy at first and couldn't do it but he eventually did. He likes to pee outside every chance he gets now! I had to protect my little guy buy placing a sensor over his little buns in the picture.

Hi! or Goodbye!

It has been 6 weeks since Korbin was born. Since then we've had another big change in our lives. We moved to Casa Grande. Wow, moving with a newborn has been terrible! Things have been crazy but I have been able to sneak a few pictures of Korbin and some with big brother Scotty.
Here is Korbin at 11 days

Scotty was not too sure about Korbin at first. He didn't want to touch him at all. He does love to have his picture taken though so he would get just close enough to have his picture taken with Korbin.

Korbin at 3 weeks

Scotty finally came around. He started first by singing to Korbin, then helping me tickle his feet to keep him awake. Then came the kisses on the head and finally, short periods of holding.
Here are the brothers Scotty- 3 years 9 months and Korbin-4 weeks

Korbin-1 month

Korbin is doing well other than spitting up..... a lot. He seems to be gaining weight fine and sleeps well. I have been able to get him to sleep anywhere from 5--6 1/2 hours at night. I usually have to get up to hold him to calm him if he gets fussy but can then put him back down. Today I woke up at 6:30 to realize that I didn't have to get up AT ALL last night. Not even to put a binkie in his mouth. Yipee!!
