New Moon

I was NOT impressed with the Twilight movie. Derrick even rented it from the Red Box one night to surprise me with something he "thought" I'd want to watch. I couldn't force myself to endure it again.
BUT.......I am willing to give the next movie New Moon a shot in hopes that lessons have been learned from Twilight and this one will be much better. With that being said, I saw something the other day that has me even more excited for the November release of New Moon.

Mesa Scrapbook Convention

This past weekend I was able to get away for a little while to have some fun with my sister and sister-in-law. Friday, Jodi and I met in Green Valley and drove to Mesa for the Scrapbook Convention. We went to the vendor fair and spent $$$$$. We got to enjoy dinner and then we were off to the crop. That's where you take stuff to work on and sit in a big room scrappin' while everyone else is doing the same. They give everyone free products and there are tons of prizes to win through drawings. I should have had someone take a picture of Jodi and I while we were there but I didn't. Jodi ended up getting sick (we think food poisoning) so we left early and went to our hotel. Our sister-in-law Laura met us at the hotel. We all woke up the next morning and went to the convention and took some classes.
Jodi and I took this great class and made this "Good Things" acrylic album. It was so much fun to do. The teacher of this class makes amazing album kits and was selling them at a booth in the vendor fair (more of our $$$$ went to her than anywhere!)

Next we met back up with Laura to take a class called "A Peek Into My Week." We got a surprise when our teacher was..........................
Elizabeth Kartchner
Sort of a celebrity in the scrapbook community

We made this fun album which showcases a week in the life of yourself or whoever you want to make the book for. So much fun!

Here are the three lucky ladies who got to attend this awesome scrapbook nerd event!

Thanks for the fun times girls! I'm looking forward to more good scrapbooking times in the years to come.
And Suzi, we missed you..............................a lot!

Easter

I'm really late in posting these pictures. Scotty had a lot of fun with Easter festivities. Lucky boy got to go on 4 Easter egg hunts over a couple of weeks time. The first was the Primary Easter egg hunt they held the last Saturday in March. He got to wear "bunny ears" and thought it was so cool.
Here is Scotty patiently awaiting the hunt.

The whole group of the younger kids waiting.

They enjoyed a snack of cupcakes and milk after they had fought for eggs.

The second Easter egg hunt was at the mom's group party the first week of April. There was some cool stuff hiding out there. There were toys, bubbles, pencils, packs of stickers, plastic eggs filled with candy, and just random wrapped candies here and there. The kids would run by all of the cool bubbles, pencils, stickers......anything NOT in a plastic egg. They just wanted to grab those eggs. We had to keep telling them to grab the other stuff. It was pretty funny.
Here is Scotty at the beginning of the hunt.
Here he is with his bucket after he was finished.

Easter weekend we went to Gilbert for an interview that Derrick had. We also got to visit with family. Scotty had a fun time with cousins at the park Friday afternoon. Derrick and I went to dinner with Jamie, Brianne and Saleem and had a good time visiting with them. Grandma made it possible for Scotty to participate in her ward/neighborhood Easter Egg hunt that Saturday. It was raining that morning so we had Cierra and Kerry (Derrick's little sis and bro) come and tell us when they were about to do the egg hunt. Then we hurried over, Scotty hunted eggs, and then we hurried back to the house. I didn't take any pictures of any of these events even though my camera was in my purse the whole time. Scotty was also spoiled by his grandma with an Easter bag with toys, a movie and candy in it.
We drove home on Saturday evening and spent Easter at home. Scotty got to go on another Easter egg hunt at home by himself on Sunday evening. And again, no pictures. But, the spoiled little boy was happy with all of the fun he had.

The most terrible baby name EVER!!

We haven't decided on a name for our little baby boy yet (we still have awhile) and I picked up a baby name book at the library a couple of weeks ago. I was looking at it over the weekend and found the worst baby name in the world!

The winner is:
Harshit: 'Joyful', 'happy'

I don't know how anyone could be joyful or happy with a name like that. Needless to say that this one didn't make our list. So, it's pretty open for anyone out there who wants to use it!

Do it.
I dare you.

Modest Swimwear

Last year I posted here about some places to get modest swim suits. I had thought that some of the suits at LiME RiCKi were cute BUT...............this year, they are AMAZING!! I love the styles and colors and everything. And I'm coveting the zebra tankini and the white slit skirt cover-up. Okay, actually I'm loving a lot of the styles.
Enjoy!

Skirt cover-ups

So, now that you're all in love with these suits as well, head over to Thirty Handmade Days and enter the giveaway for one of these great suits. Oh, and when you enter, let them know that you read my post and that I sent you. I know I'm pregnant and will be WAY too huge for these suits this summer but, I'd love to have something to work into for next summer. Then I'll have plenty of time and tons of motivation to have a killer bod by summer 2010!
Go now.....do it.

I will definitely be stealing these creative ideas!!

I've seen so many cute ideas for home decorating and baby stuff lately. But some of my favorites are:
1. This wonderful wall hanging from Brassy Apple. I would love to do something like this to hang on the wall behind my bed. It is lined with fabric in the back. You can change out the wreath or hang anything you want from it.

2. Another idea by Brassy Apple is this great picture frame. She put fabric that she likes that compliments her room in some of the photo spaces. I love how it looks with the black and white photos and then the pop of color and patterns in the fabric.

3. I've been looking at a lot of blogs/sites with baby stuff to get ideas for my own little baby. I haven't made anything yet because I haven't found out the sex of the baby yet.
But.......tomorrow is the big day!!!!
I'm so excited to find out so I can start sewing and creating fun things for my baby.
Lately I have been seeing a lot of blogs/sites with these adorable decorated wipes containers. Here is one I found quite adorable. I love the choice of colors (won't work so well if we're having a boy, but LOVE the colors anyway!) AND.......there is a tutorial on how to make one for yourself. Check it out at Make it and Love it.

4. Another from Make it and Love it.
There is also a tutorial on how to make one of these. I love this concept. You take a large frame and take the inserts out. Cover them with fabric and put them back in. Then you write on the glass with dry erase markers and you have yourself a custom dry erase board that matches your home.
