I bought Scotty some clearance Easter sidewalk chalk last week. He had a lot of fun drawing on the porch. He had just watched an episode of Max and Ruby where they were playing Hop Scotch and he kept talking about it. I drew the Hop Scotch squares and Scotty had a lot of fun jumping all over them. I wish I had thought to get a video of him jumping around thinking he was playing hop scotch but totally missing the squares. It's too funny. He still asks me if he can go "play Op Scotch, momma?" Here are a couple of pics of Scotty having fun with his egg chalk.
Now, here's a guessing game for you. There are at least 4 people on my links list that should have a chance at guessing what the below pic reminds me of and maybe some others who view my blog. It's something from my childhood. It should probably remind these people of something from their childhood too!!
Not such a hard guessing game is it?

Drums, Pizza, Light sabers, and cousins---what more could a little boy want?

I don't have many interesting things to blog about right now so I thought I'd post some fun pics of Scotty. A couple of weeks ago we were in Gilbert visiting Derrick's family. Scotty was introduced to Rock Band. He loved to watch everyone play Rock Band but REALLY loved playing the drums. Even after we got home he would say, "Watch Rock Band, Daddy?" Here's Scotty the Drum Master! One of Scotty's fave toys to play with at Grandma Palmer's house is the Pizza toy. It has slices of pizza that Velcro together to make the pizza. There are little round discs that are pepperoni, mushrooms and I think the others are veggies. These little discs Velcro to the top of the pizza. Someone even put a little pink apron on my boy as he was playing "Pizza Maker!"

Scotty and Rigley were playing with the light sabers and had a little battle! They had a lot of fun.
Scotty-hogging the light sabers
Scotty had a lot of fun playing with his cousins and aunt and uncle at Brianne's house and at Grandma's house. A couple of days after we got home, I had gotten Scotty dressed for the day and he ran to the door and said, "Go, Rigley's house, Momma!" He kept saying this over and over. I had to explain that we didn't live close enough to just go over to Rigley's house and that we were going to have to stay at our house. Scotty threw a huge fit that lasted about 30 minutes because I wasn't going to take him to play at Rigley's.

It's a day of Tags! It's Scotty's Turn!

Scotty has been tagged by his cute cousin Kassidy!
I just have to list 8 things about Scotty.

1: Scotty loves fruit. He mostly loves apples, oranges, grapes and strawberries.

2: He thinks that any two minute ride in the car means that he should take his shoes and socks off.

3: He can get down!! He loves to dance and has pretty good rhythm.

4: Scotty loves the toys at both of his grandma's houses but rarely plays with his own toys at home.

5: His favorite thing to do right now is to go outside with mommy and pick the "flowers" (weeds) at the front of the house.

6: Scotty love his daddy so much and loves to do things with daddy.

7: He especially likes to watch "Daddy Shows" with daddy. Like Futurama. The robot on that cartoon is named Bender. Scotty will walk around throughout the day and say, "Momma, where's Bender?" Or "Momma, Bender funny!"

8: Scotty is afraid of bugs. I don't know that he's actually ever seen a real spider but is afraid of them. Sometimes when I'm about to change his poopy diapers, he grabs his butt and says, "There's spiders in there!" I thought maybe he was getting things confused but he watched a cartoon about spiders and knows how to point out cartoon spiders and spiders in drawings and stuff. I have no idea why he thinks there would be spiders in his poo poo's?

Scotty wants to tag: Noah Lambson, Salem Palmer, Palmer Dababneh, Adilyn Dababneh, and Rigley Dababneh (maybe you should just name 8 things about your kids in general, Brianne!!)

Book Tag

I've been tagged again!

Closest Book: "Desire of Our Hearts"

Page 123, 5th sentence and following 3 sentences: "Alma knew it in a way that he could never have explained to anyone else. He knew it was true. He knew it.

Abinadi recited scripture from Isaiah from memory."

Thanks for the tag Sherida! I just borrowed this book from my mother-in-law and I am almost finished. If scripture read like this novel, I'd never have a problem with reading them every day!!!!

I now tag: Brianne, Matt or Kaaryn, Melissa, and Alona

Latest Project

This is my latest project. This is the baby gift I just made for Derrick's sister. The last diaper bag I made, I didn't have a pattern and it didn't turn out as well as I would have liked. So this time I got a pattern and I love the result. There are two pockets on the front of the bag and two in the back. The top opening ties closed with ribbon.

My Hair---The Never Ending Story

So, my hair adventure began about a little over a month ago when I decided I would cut myself some bangs. I spent zero time deliberating and just went into the bathroom one night and started hacking off my hair. I cut bangs and decided that it looked funny because my hair was SO long. So................I tried to cut some face framing layers.............it didn't work. I had this funky chunk out of one side in the front. So, I went to a place and asked for my hair to be trimmed but most especially to have that piece in the front blended in. I also wanted it colored. I'm blind so while having my hair done, they need my glasses off. She blew my hair dry before I left and before I put my glasses on. So, when I left, the color was not what I wanted but otherwise it didn't look too bad. Until I washed it and found that the main reason I went in (the hacked hair in the front) didn't get fixed. Looked exactly the same as when I cut it. So, I ended up coloring part of my hair myself and was going to try to live with the cut. I couldn't do it. At the end of February I decided to go to someone else and have her cut it short. I had pics of cuts that I loved but they wouldn't work right with the short hacked hair by my face. She did a pretty good job with it. Thanks "S"! I still wasn't happy with the color so I am gradually lightening the underneath hair from brown to blond. It's not quite there yet which is one of the reasons I was hesitant to post pics (and I feel like my face is too chubby to share) but here they are!!
These first two are the outcome after blowing it dry with a round brush.

And now a little flippy!

And here it is straight.
So, there they are. Not great pics but you get the idea. I'm sure that isn't the end of the story. I'll probably be changing it up in a couple of months. Who knows?

Aprons, Aprons, Aprons!

I am loving aprons right now. The place that we are renting does not have a dishwasher (play your little violins here) so I decided that I needed to make myself some cute, fun aprons to wear while I'm washing dishes, cooking, and cleaning. I have been eyeing the above apron which is reversible and so flirty and cute. I know that the pattern has just recently been released but I didn't know where to get it. So, in my past two trips to Willcox I made some from an old pattern from the '70's that my mom had given me and one from a pattern my mom had. I wish the "model" in my pics was as cute and thin as in the pictures above but I don't have access to such models and such models would drown in my aprons. So, I had to go with the only amateur plus-sized model I could find..................and with the only amateur photographer I could find.......... with her sister's old 2.0 mega pixel camera. So, imagine the possibilities..........
I found my fun fabrics at Alco in Willcox. I loved this pink flowered fabric matched with the pink striped fabric.
And, I always love a good blue/brown combo. These are the '70's aprons. The straps cross in the back and button over the shoulders. You can't see that in these pics but they're different and fun and I love the one huge pocket on the side.

Hopefully my domestic duties will be much more inviting now that I have some cute aprons to look forward to!
